Steve Keller grew up in Queens NY where he developed a passion for music in his teens. He started his first band, focusing on The Beatles, various other British Invasion bands and the Beach Boys, with his brother and two friends. Harmonies were always very important to Steve. With this band and subsequent electric and acoustic bands, he played many gigs in Queens, Manhattan and on Long Island, being further influenced by CCR, CSNY, Jackson Browne, the Eagles and Motown.

Moving to Capital District in the early 90s, Steve took a hiatus for a while before playing with local bands, Whatever!, and Green River, and for the past 5 years with his good friend Peter in the acoustic act Keller & McGowan. Having a jonesing for the electric band format, Steve kept his eyes open and came across Thee Mr. E Band, and is happy he did.
